Haiti Appeal
There is a very moving letter from the Rector Major after his visit to Haiti last week. It is on the notice board at the back of church. If anyone would like a copy please ask Father Francis.

Lenten Alms (Liberia Appeal)
We committed our Parish at the Millennium to on-going support for Liberia. A simple way of doing this is to use, during Lent, a ‘Liberia’ Box – labels are provided at the back of the church to enable you to ‘make your own’ (either a box, a jar, plastic bag, envelope or anything you can put coins into). Any Loose change or money you have saved by giving something up for Lent can go into this ‘box’. Please consider this as your ‘Lenten Alms’ and bring in the donations for the Salesian Liberian Mission at Easter.

CAFOD Family Fast Day
Three of our Confirmation candidates, Alice and Emily Wray and Miriam Beck, held a home made cake sale in aid of CAFOD in the hall after Mass last week. They made a fantastic £58.70 to send off with our Parish CAFOD donation. Well done and thank you.

Lilies for Easter
As Easter approaches once again we would like to decorate the Church with lilies which parishioners have donated in remembrance of their deceased relatives or friends. If you would like to donate a lily, please place the name of the person you wish to be remembered together with the sum of £2 in the envelopes provided at the back of the church and hand them to Fr Francis. (Any queries please ring Frances Barnes on 01625 829299)

Sacramental Preparation Programmes
Following the Parents Meeting on Wednesday, 7th October, the First Communion Programme is now underway.
Also pupils from our parish in Year 8 at Secondary School, who have received their First Communion, should have received an invitation to enrol for the Confirmation Preparation Programme.
If anyone seems to be being missed out of either the First Communion or the Confirmation Programme, please let Fr Francis know as soon as possible.
Since the RCIA Programme is due to begin again after half term, Fr Francis would like to know of anyone who wishes to join in.

Barnabus
your generous gifts for the homeless have been gratefully received – thanks to those involved in the transporting of the gifts. As part of our Parish ‘Covenant with the Poor’, we have pledged to continue our support for this charity. Please continue to give what you can, when you can, in the line of toiletries, tinned goods, and socks/underwear. The ‘big brown Barnabus box’ remains at the back of church.

Project 2030
In your 20s? The twentysomethings have a regular programme of events for Catholics in their 20s.
Things coming up include:

If you’d like to receive more details of these and other events locally contact hugh@project2030.fsnet.co.uk or text/ring Clare on 07950 202205.

Hospital Visiting
If you know of any parishioners who are in hospital and would like to be visited, please give the details to Father Mageean who will arrange for a visit.

Readers
Some readers have requested Mass leaflets for the following week. These are always available from the vestry. Just pick one up after Mass.

Parish Hymn Books.
From time to time we replenish our stock of parish hymn books. If you would like to dedicate a hymn book to a loved one who has died, we are able to do this by putting a dedication in the front of the book. If you wish to remember someone in this way just ask Father Francis or Pat Cohen. A donation of five pounds goes towards the cost of the hymn book.
